The house is located in Patagonia Argentina on a gently sloping terrain with views of Lake Gutierrez and the Catedral, Ventana and Otto mountains.
As a first approach, two concerns arise: what is the relationship with the landscape and how to inhabit a spacious house.
We seek a construction where the human presence is manifested by the geometric abstraction that, when contrasted with the surrounding landscape, emphasizes the markedly natural. This relationship of opposites extends to the entire realization of the work.
The house is divided into volumes that are connected through spaces exposed to the landscape. Thus, access to any of the modules implies entering-exiting the house and the landscape. To expose oneself to the landscape and take refuge in the house. To be part of the landscape and observe it framed in the window.
This idea is built with 5 prisms, each of which is rotated on its axial axis to comply with the roof slope regulations. In this way, roof and volume form a single abstract element. The prisms are linked by glazed connectors (stairs, steps and bridges); constructed voids. The contrast between connectors and closed volumes generates a rhythm in its path.
We try to generate through the division of the house into volumes, a sense of shelter. Smaller spaces can be more easily appropriated. The separation between each of the spaces allows them to be inhabited independently.
Thus, a spacious house located in a natural landscape seeks to highlight its surroundings and invites to be inhabited at the same time.
